I began by applying illamasqua's radiance veil to clean skin. On top of this, I applied the satin primer and then started applying the white skin base. I applied the radiance veil and satin primer because I know that the skin base on its own can look quite flat and I wanted glowing skin. I didn't have my buffing brush with me today which was so annoying! this wold have been perfect for working the skin base into the skin, as i didn't want it to look as if it was just sat on the skin. For next time i need to remember to apply a small bit with he foundation brush and then quickly blend it in with a buffing brush as it does dry very quickly. However, I did get a good even finish.
I then moved onto the eyes- I used a white pigment across the lid and then purples and plums in the crease. I wanted quite a harsh edge so I didnt blend it out too much. I was happy with the eyes, but if I had a bit longer I would have put a dark purple shadow along the bottom lash line. Another thing I would have loved to have done was paint the eyelashes white.
I then moved onto the lips and obviously wanted a purple lip, but I could only get a raspberry colour from the lip pallet we have in our kits. Therefore i accidentally ended up with more of an analogous look! To correct this I would dab purple eye shadow on top as it would stick to the lipstick.
Another thing I would add is maybe some purple contouring as the face looked quite flat with just the white base.
Health and safety:
- Before I do anything, I make sure that my brushes have been sufficiently cleaned with Isopropyl alcohol to prevent bacteria spreading.
- I covered my work station with couch roll to ensure that I had a clean space to put all my products and tools onto.
- I covered my model with a gown so that no product would fall onto her clothing.
- Before starting the makeup I asked my model if she had any skin diseases or medical conditions that i should be aware of. I also asked if she was wearing contact lenses, as some products will irritate them.
- I washed my hands with soap and water to prevent bacteria transferring.
- I decanted any product onto the back of my clean hand, to prevent double dipping and again preventing any bacteria from the models face being transferred into my make up.
