Experimenting with monochromatic make up

As i wasn't thrilled with my monnochromatic look that I did in class, I came home and experimented on myself. I wanted to use the same colours and idea as before and get used to working to the time limit. This actually took me under 40 mins.

I am so pleased with how this turned out. I think its such an improvement to what I did in class. I applied satin primer and then radiance veil to the skin before applying the white skin base. I then put a white eyeshadow over the lid and a light plum/purple colour through the crease. Last time i left the lines quite harsh but this time I blended it to create a dramatic yet soft look. I then took a dark purple to the corner of the eye and under the lash line and continued to blend. To finish the eyes, I used a small amount of the white supra colour to paint the eyelashes- I love the result this gave it really made the eyes pop! For the lips, I used the darkest shade in the lip palette as a base and then pressed purple eyeshadow on top. I wasnt happy with this as it was too dark so I dabbed a bit of white supra colour onto the lips and blended it in. I then took some more purple eyeshadow and used it to line the lips- this added depth and tied in with the eyes.

To finish the look, I used a mixture of the two purples i had been using and I used them to contour the face. This is a step that I missed last time and I love the result- other than looking super cool it adds dimension to the face and prevents the white base making the face look flat.

Obviously, the white base gives an Elizabethan feel, but to take this even further I want to try and remove the eyebrows next time. I couldn't do this today as I didn't have any glue! Overall I'm really pleased with this look.
