When doing my presentation last week, a few people suggested that I tried doing a similar look, but taking the eyeshadow down the nose to make it look more dramatic. I tried a couple variations of this look and I was actually quite pleased with the outcome. I have actually gone off the idea of blocking out the eyebrows and then going over them with a thin black line. I feel like it might all be too much and will be quite fiddly and time consuming in the assessment. I was playing around with eyebrows today and I
actually really like the white 'feral' looking eyebrow. I love the way it looks and I think it really suits my character as she had no money which meant she couldn't look after herself. I also think the feral eyebrow will represent her mental deterioration.
For my first go at this look I chose to drag the eyeshadow down the face past the cheekbones- I also took the eyeshadow down the nose and used a deep plum colour to create a harsh line . I really like the shape this created, but it's hard to get the eyeshadow even and although I wanted it to look quite messy I didn't want it to look patchy.
I added lots of black to the crease and really blended it out- I wanted a dark eye to match my dark character. I didn't put black underneath the eyes as I wanted the eyes to look heavy. I'm really happy that I decided to do a dramatic red eye, as red portrays so many emotion. Anger, danger, love. I feel like it's appropriate for my character as she would be scared as she had no money and no home, but it also represents her desperation for passion.
Here is my second variation of this design:
This was very similar but I didn't take the eyeshadow as at down the cheeks this time. I much preferred this look as there was more definition and I found it a lot easier to get both eyes even. I like taking the eyeshadow down the nose as it almost creates a heart shape effect.
I wanted to add detail to the neck. I wanted to do something to portray the deterioration of her wealth and mental state. This is what I came up with:
I did this streaky effect using skin base. I chose to do this as pale skin was a sign of wealth, and by giving it this streaky and faded effect it represents her money and social status fading. I need to play around with this more but I really like it and feel that it is suited to my character.
